The global launch ceremony of Porsche’s new four-seat Panamera is being held at the Seaview Resort Xiamen from Nov. 4th to Nov. 10th, following its debut at the Shanghai Auto Show in April. This is the first time that an international top brand has hosted its global launch ceremony in Xiamen, indicating that China has gradually become the largest luxury-goods market in the world and also a safe haven during the financial crisis. As the centre of the west coast zone of the Taiwan Straits, Xiamen has attracted more and more attention. And the Seaview Resort also makes Xiamen a better match for international top brands. A total of 54 Panamera cars are present at the event. Guests can run these cars by five different routes in a test drive activity. The Seaview Resort has set up a huge glass exhibition hall on its 2000-square-metre lawn for Porsche’s car show, launching ceremony, cocktail party and dinner party. Occupying an area of one million square metres, the Seaview Resort has broad outdoor space covered with gardens, lakes, hills and valleys. This new vehicle is a 4-door, 4-seat grand tourer of very German proportions (smooth and curvy - a bit like the female body) with a front mounted engine with power and torque delivered to the rear wheels. It will compete with other expensive European vehicles such as the Ferrari-engined Maserati Quattroporte, Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class and the XJ Jaguar range. According to Porsche, the Panamera S is priced at RMB 1,843,000, while Panamera 4S is RMB 1,926,000 and Panamera Turbo is RMB 2,490,000. SOURCE: New Dimension |
